A “Sherbeel” (شربيل) is a women’s shoe that originated in 19th century Morocco. It's pretty much the same as my last name, right? Pretty much. Don't think about it too much. It's basically the same. I hate to go all "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" on you, but the point here is that we can connect anything back to anything else. No, I don't think that everything happens for a reason, or that my made-up-at-Ellis-Island last name meaning Moroccan shoe (or Lebanese saint) means I should go learn Arabic and move to Morocco.
All I'm saying is that things happen, and we can choose to assign reasons and meaning to them. I named my blog "we're all shoes" to remind myself and any readers (if there are any...) that we have the ability to determine our relationships and connections to our world and the people in it. I might not be Moroccan, but, in the end, we're all shoes :) (Header image photo credit: http://paris-marrakech.com/blog/tag/cherbil/)
